Would the U.S. see negative effect if all the illegal immigrants were deported?

The Perryman Group has conducted a study on this, and their study found nothing but negative effects on the US. What do you think? and do you still think getting rid of them would be good for us?

The Perryman Group as a part of this study indicate that there are currently approximately 8.1 million undocumented workers in the US economy. If these workers were removed from the workforce, the effects would ripple through many industries and the ultimate job losses would be even higher.

For the US as a whole, the immediate negative effect of
eliminating the undocumented workforce would include an
estimated:

$1.757 trillion in annual lost spending,

$651.511 billion in annual lost output, and

8.1 million lost jobs.

Several states lose a notable percentage of business activity if
the undocumented workforce is removed. These states
naturally include several along the US-Mexico border, but also
others scattered around the country.

Per-capita losses in a number of states include thousands of dollars in annual economic activity.

Certain industries are especially dependent on the
undocumented workforce and would be particularly hard hit if
it were removed. In fact, for the agriculture and construction
sectors, the initial effects would be extremely disruptive.

Immigration: No Correlation With Crime
Docar, can you please provide sources to backup your claim, or is it that you are getting good at making things up?

No we would see positive effects. We would have less crime and more available jobs. We would also have more money in our social programs for our legal citizens, our children could move ahead in education, our prisons would be less crowded, our insurance rates would go down, we would have less stolen ID crimes, we would have shorter wait time in our ER’s and the list just goes on and on.

  2. Micky....the resurrection says:

Not at all. Our economy would finally turn around for the good, our citizens would be much safer, our hospitals wouldn’t be closing down due to bankruptcy, prices would drop and our neighborhoods would be nice again. It would only bring positive changes if all the illegals would be deported.

  3. American Man says:

No. Its not too much different than any business with a large cash flow…. they can only run a negative cash flow so long before they are bankrupt, no matter how many dollars come in as revenue.

The short term effects might seem negative, but the long term would be positive.

I think one can look at California as evidence of the negative affects of illegals on a state’s economy, or path towards bankruptcy!

  4. Darwin says:

There would be no moe fresh fruits and vegetables in the supermarkets and no one to wash dishes in the restaurants.

  5. Docar says:

Can you find an unbiased group? Americans for immigration reform = Give criminals amnesty!
Perryman Group = a company that is hired by big business to make them look good! Did you really think that they would be objective? Companies hire them to make illegal immigration look good and their your source? Isn’t that like using the skinheads as a source for why we shouldn’t have diversity in the US?
The negative effect would be more jobs, less wasted taxes, less death, injuries, crimes, etc. But most of us consider that a positive thing. Less than 2% of illegals work in agriculture. That 2% does NOT process enough food to feed the illegal aliens in the US. If all illegals aliens were to leave we would have more food!
Less crime: over 30% of inmates in the US are illegal aliens and it’s not elves, gremlins or leprechauns in there! If you don’t know an illegal alien from a legal immigrant you might want to look it up!

I agree with Docar. In the short term we might lose businesses, and more jobs, In the long term when businesses realize they have to pay a livable wage, and provide job safety then american workers will gain those jobs and the company will recover. They’ll have smaller profits, but they will still survive and grow.

Karma they have already taken their companies out of the US. Remember NAFTA? And if they are growing apples in the USA they would need citizens to pick them wouldn’t they?
If they want to be an american company they need to use american workers.

McDonald’s will lose a large customer base and the price of ketchup will rise. Violent gangs will lose some of their members and we’ll have pay a little more for casual labor. I’m willing to pay the price.

  8. mikea_va says:

Maybe we would for first few months or so. But after that, the US economy would move forward in a positive direction, which it hasn’t in years.

  9. T-Mex II Iguanodon Eróticus says:

California would go to hell if that happens, and that’s just one example.

  10. Karma says:

Sasori, What makes you think that the companies would be prefer to make less profit just that the americans can earn 15 dlls/hr picking apples? They would take their companies over seas and USA will sink right to the bottom. Than americans would start immigrating to some other country.

  11. MowYourOwnLawn says:

No, It would be a day to rejoice. Do your part and stop hiring illegals and mow your own lawn.

  12. Kat M says:

no we would not, more bias illegal reform huh! It could only be positive in so many ways, from the money saved to the cut in crime rate etc…
