What are some things I can do to improve business at a pizza parlor?

I work at a pizza parlor. We have a sit-in eating area, and I would like some ideas for attracting more sit-in customers. Any ideas will be welcome. I was thinking we could have different events or themes each night, like a Wednesday kid’s night, for example. Any input you’d have will be really helpful. Thanks.

    1) Sell pizza by-the-slice all day long.
    2) Sell atleast one canned energy drink.
    3) Work something out with elementary-aged children at a school where they can create drawings or construction paper “art” that can be displayed at the store. That can bring parents into the store.
    4) Distribute coupons by way of an envelope pack with other local retailers on the condition that there aren’t too many other pizza operators participating in the same mailing.
    5) If your building is set back far off of the road, put a sign on the parkway advertising your store.
    6) Try to get “large orders”, atleast 10 or more pizzas, for school lunches, school sporting events, church gatherings, parties, business lunches et al on a recurring basis.
    7) If you’re located near hotels/motels, get your business highlighted in their local directory of relevant merchants. People from out-of-town will automatically call you instead of calling the first listing in the Yellow Pages…….Chew on those!

I work at an independent pizza parlor that’s been making record profits for the past 3 months straight, so hopefully I can help.
    1) It’s ALL about the customer service. As soon as someone walks in the door you greet them with a smile and a happy hello even if you’re ticked off at the world.
    2) Joke around with the guests. Remember, they’re people, too!
    3) They are your GUESTS. NOT customers! Treat them so!
    4) We’re doing 3 different promotions right now, Toys for Tots, a canned food drive, and Coats for Kids. People bring in something, and usually sit down to eat a pizza.
    5) Consistency is key. Are different employees making pizzas different ways? Make sure they know there is ONE way to do it and that’s how it will be done. If a person comes in one day and orders a pepperoni pizza and they get a pizza covered in pepperoni, then the next week order the same thing and get one that’s a little skimpy, or way too loaded, they probably won’t come back.
    6) The guest is always right. If a guest is served the wrong pizza, or gets upset for any reason, employees have to remember to LET THEM VENT. Then with a smile, ask politely, “are you done?” And then follow up with, “how can I help fix this for you?” You’ll get people that are always going to be cranky. Just give them a coupon for a free pizza and let them be on their way, or give them a new one.
    7) If your employees are slumping around, looking tired, bored, or mad, the guests won’t want to eat there. Remember that all moods are contagious, even happy ones!

    Hope I helped!
