An idea for Youth Group Fundraisers

There are all types of youth group fundraisers to help you raise the funds needed to help others in this day and age. If you are looking to help a group, organization or the kids at your local school, there are youth group fundraisers for them. You can raise enough money to buy uniforms for your son’s little league team to helping the neighborhood kids who cannot afford school supplies.

People have a big heart and are always willing to give if they feel it is for a good cause. If you are just asking for donations you probably won’t raise a whole lot of money. If you offer something in return for their kind gesture you are more likely to reach the goal you had in mind. You will find there are some youth group fundraisers that require a lot of planning to put the event together.

What I came across in my research is that there are a lot of things that can be purchased in advance. In fact, some of the best youth group fundraisers came from people who would give you a huge discount on their materials. Especially for those who wished to use them in some type of fundraiser that was for a non profit group or organization. If this is your case, there a lot of discounts to be found out there that are just a click away.

Another advantage I found is that some of these places will help with shipping. While others would customize the material by putting a name or logo of the group you are going to be raising the funds for. With some of the youth group fundraisers that I came across, that was going to be the only hard part to accomplish. Getting the material and telling them how you wanted it customized. Believe it or not, I came across a place that would do the customization for free if you bought from them. Are those great youth group fundraisers or what?

The only other thing I had to figure out was finding a few people that would help me with the event. Which was really the easiest part of it all. People love to volunteer and help out in any way they can for youth group fundraisers. I came across a few people that were willing to help with the funds needed to buy the materials. Which surprised me the most because I never asked anyone for any financial support. This proved to me even more how willing people are to help out in any way possible. You have to love the heart of these people. I never thought youth group fundraisers could be so easy.

I think there are a lot of people out there that come up with the thought, while in the end, it never comes to be. Some folks have this belief that youth group fundraisers must be complicated and take a lot of time and organization. I would tell them that nothing could be farther from the truth. It is going to be what you make of it. There are youth group fundraisers out there that don’t have to feel like trying to pass a bill through congress.

I know one of the most popular ones out there is having a bake sale. I offered to help with one of those in my past. I would never do it again. I will bet half of the hair on my head turned gray during the course of planning and getting it ready. That is, the hair I hadn’t pulled out of my head already. Youth group fundraisers are simple, do not require a lot of planning and can raise you the most funds in the end. That is why I want to share the one we chose with you.

Sooooooo . . . I applied for a job simply b/c it had “writer” as one of their targets (among many others). I have an interview tomorrow, and I’ve been researching the heck out of the company. Still I have no idea what this really is . . . is it like running stands at the state fair for a company, for example, or holding demonstrations at grocery stores? What is this? And I even wiki’d it . . . nothing.

What is a good idea for a corporate event/party?

I am planning our “end of tax season” party for the accounting team at my work and need some ideas on what kind of a party to throw them. Last year the company bought them jackets and treated them to indoor go-cart racing. The year before that they went on a scavenger hunt around Boston and recieved beer mugs and went to happy hour. We are a growing real estate firm in the Boston area. Anyone have any good ideas on what to plan for this year? I am planning this for May 2007, have a budget of $3,000 and a group of about 20. Thanks.

Business Idea, where to begin?

I live in a little town that is expanding too fast to keep up with itself (thanks to oil) and while most things can be found after about an hours drive, there are several things we still lack. One of those is a place for children’s activities. I would like to open a place that has a variety of parent-child and child only activites, one that will also serve as a meeting place for parent meets (such as la leche, diaper free baby, attachment parenting groups, whatever we have a need for) and demonstrations (learn to use a baby sling etc) I already have everything planned out in my head, except for how to get the money to get started. Personal life, I don’t exactly have money to put down, and i’m young so I don’t know how to get the bank to even give me a second look. What can I do to make this happen? One thing I have considered is starting with offering the classes to groups who hire me (church, daycares etc.) but I’m not sure how to go about that, either.

I’m not looking to open a business, but I’m looking to put on an event in my city that I’ll need a little bit of investment money for. I need to know the best way of writing up a good business plan for potential investors.

What do you think of this business idea? How easy/hard would it be to sell ad space?

Imagine an 8 page+ (free newspaper) that is distributed in 10s-100s of place. Ad space is $40 weekly for the smallest ad, which is 3×3″. Ad space can be used for publicity, coupons, event announcements etc. In a city of 200k, 600k copies would be distributed to gas stations, fast food locations, bus stations etc.

There are brief editorials throughout the paper to keep a reader glued/interested.

What do you think? I’m thinking about buying a franchise of one of these companies at a modest price of $8.5k.

Would this be easy to sell? I think it’s CHEAP advertising compared to listing in the newspaper, and more copies are distributed.
The weekly print bill would be appx $700. 63 3×3 ad’s can fit in an 8 pg paper.

Could this business idea succeed and is it legal?

With all the foreclosure homes in the real estate market, why not allow poor people to share % ownership in purchases of multiple real estate nationwide foreclosed homes?

So like suppose 1 house is on the market for $500,000 and 5,000 poor people each invest $100 each, then all 5,000 people share ownership of the $500,000 house.
Then if the house appreciates to 3 million dollars, and the majority of the investors agree to sell the house, then a total profit of 2.5 Million is made, and that becomes $500 profit per poor person.

And you can do this with more shareholders and more homes and develop many many many real estate homes purchased with shares ownership for the purpose of turning a real estate profit.

Other things that would be factored in: The owners would each have to pay a small negligable share of property tax and homeowners insurance for their own share of ownership.

And lastly, each owner would be liable up to $10,000 towards all other investors in the event that home owner wrecked the home and the homeowners policy failed to accept the claim for damage.

Also I would establish a second corporation whereby each individual owner would be free to invest an additional sum of money for protection against negligable damages to the house not covered by the homeowners policy, and then my second corporation would reimburse its insured investors by an amount of 100 times the premium.
This is because the damaged individual will not be liable beyond 10,000 for destroying a home. This will create more comfort in the homeowners not being fearful to live in the homes they have invested in.
Also of course any investor who deliberately damages any home he/she owns as a percentage, will be subject to $10,000 liability towards other shareholders PLUS forego his/her investment and be permanently banned from any further participation in the corporation.
Edit: about the majority agreeing to a sale. We can allow for a secondary market of outsiders to buy one of the investors out of his/her share as well. Now you can can sell earlier. One of the risks of this market will be you can’t sell after the team sells, because the buyer of a group sale will almost always be an individual buyer

What are your thoughts on this business idea.

A service that helps set up dating locations for first dates, couples, special occations, etc.. This service would cater a niche market for daters.
The service would provide potential customer’s with options to pick from for a date. Once a location or event is selected, the service would take care of all the arrangements. We would provide details about the location and what to expect.
For example, if someone picked a nice dinner, then we would pick a great location close to were the customer lives. Provide details about the menu, pricing and parking. We would call the restaurant and make all the reservation.
This idea is still a work in process.

I need some unbiased input for a business opportunity. I am thinking about starting a home inventory business where I would come to a clients home, inventory and document all of the items they consider valuable and provide said client with a printed and an electronic report. This would be used in the event that a natural disaster, fire, or theft were to occur. I would be licensed, bonded, and insured. If one of these events were to occur, would the average person be able to accurately describe the item(s) and remember the price for each missing or damaged item? I would provide a contract that included a confidentiality agreement and all client information would be processed on an offline computer(never connected to the internet) and once the end product was delivered to the client, their information would be destroyed unless they requested a copy be kept in a safe deposit box at a bank. Please provide honest feedback. This will be based in the metro Detroit, Mi. area, but any input would be greatly appreciated!
additional information…I found some software that puts all of this information into a neat, tidy report. I allows for the appraisel value to be entered, if the client has it available. I would not attempt to provide this to the client, rather advise them to find someone who could. I would only be recording model numbers, serial numbers(if available), a breif description, a a digital picture(which would be included on the printed report and the CD.
