Most of the event sites I’ve visited tend to be listings, which is great if you want a music event near your home town, but not so great if you have something potentially deeper in mind.</p>

<p>Also, when searching for catering in Houston you will probably find out what people are saying about the company through reviews. Also, read the website and call, and you&#8217;ll soon get your own gut feeling about their catering service.</p>
<p>Corporate, event and wedding catering in Houston</p>
<p>Most corporate catering offer everyday office catering for a meeting, to full-service catering for an reception, party, fundraiser, or other important event. If you just need something to eat during a meeting, I suggest calling a restaurant to deliver food. But, if the event is big enough, you&#8217;ll want to ask for references, and set up a meeting to taste the food. This should give you a good idea if the company is any good.</p>
<p>If you want basic business catering for breakfast and lunch, food trays and boxed meals are popular. Both offer variety and the quality of food stays consistent for both choices. It&#8217;s just a matter of preference. Of course, there&#8217;s always the option of the traditional buffet and sit down service when you have larger groups to feed. Just keep in mind, whichever meal you&#8217;re having and whatever you choose to eat, you should have the choice to have it made and delivered the way you want.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a wedding caterer in Houston, there&#8217;s lots of websites, magazines, and brochures that are easy to find. What I suggest you do is create a budget before calling any one of them. Calculate the cost per person and the cost for the entire reception you are willing to spend.</p>
<p>Get specific with the type of food and drinks you want by writing down an ideal menu to present to the caterer. And don&#8217;t forget to present a table setting budget because it&#8217;s a major cost in any reception. Keep in mind, the more service required the higher the price tag.</p>
<p>Wedding catering is all about making the bride and groom shine. My tip to any catering company in Houston is to create favorite foods of both the bride and the groom. Too often I see fancy finger food being presented that few people enjoy. I would say the same for wedding anniversary parties.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;re looking and have probably found a few companies catering Houston. Sometimes it&#8217;s difficult to differentiate all of them. So, I suggest going with a restaurant for food catering. If you need an elaborate setup for a party, event and wedding, you may have to hire an event planner.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Event planning is a team affair. Successful event planning is never a one man, or woman, band. It takes many skills and talents to produce a memorable event that goes without hitches. Team building is the key to achieving this.</p>
<p>Your team includes both your colleagues in the company that is planning the event and the outside contractors from which you source services and supplies. You need all these people to be on your side and pulling together if you are to plan and effective event.</p>
<p>Those most closely associated with planning the event in-house must be kept informed of developments. This can be done by sharing your time chart with them. Each part of the team should be able to see where their input fits into the whole project.</p>
<p>Outside contractors need to know the information that is vital for them to perform their function. If they are kept informed they will be more willing to make that extra effort when problems unavoidably arise. They need to feel a committment to your event if they are to give you their maximum effort.</p>
<p>But it is your in-house team that you must devote most attention to building. This is the team that will go on to plan future events. If you can develop a sense of cohesion among them then they will stick together and build up an expertise that will put them ahead of the competition.</p>
<p>Your event planning team needs to feel some ownership of the project. They will respond better if they understand the event in its totality and do not see the dead lines and other demands you place on them as purely arbitrary.</p>
<p>At the outset of the process of event planning you should create a time chart that describes all the tasks that need to be done for the event to go ahead. The best kind of chart for this is the Gantt chart that is widely used in all areas of construction, engineering and complex planning.</p>
<p>This kind of chart allows a number of processes that need to be brought together at specific times to be visualized. Event planning is about bringing different processes together in that way. Different parts of your team will be working on different tasks. When they view the chart they will be able to grasp where their particular role fits into the whole.</p>
<p>The event planning time chart should be shared among the team. Team members with responsibility for particular tasks can then record their progress on the chart. Other members can identify problems that relate to their function.</p>
<p>It is vital that the budget is established at an early stage in planning the event. Every member of the team needs to know what part of the budget is their responsibility. If the budget spread sheet is shared between the team then they will see the impact of any overshoot on one part of the event planning process on all the others.</p>
<p>Face to face meetings are important in team building for event plannning. But most of your collaboration can take place on line. The time chart can be updated and reviewed by every team member without ever meeting in person. This makes the process of team work more efficient than if meetings have to be organized and time is wasted in chatting.</p>
<p>Face to face meetings come into their own in the process of reviewing the whole project after the event has taken place. A fairly informal meeting in which team members can discuss their experiences and the problems they encountered with the event will help to generate new ideas that will prove useful in future events.</p>
<p>A team that has learned to trust one another&#8217;s abilities in this way is a highly creative force in event planning. Event planning demands that diverse talents are harnessed and that places the emphasis on horizontal rather than hierarchical relationships. A genuine event planning team must learn to work in this way.</p>
<p>Finally, don&#8217;t forget to acknowledge the work of your external contractors. Let them know that you were pleased with their efforts. Testimonials from you may get them other business. Make a point of developing a long term relationship with good companies. They are a part of your event planning team too.</p>
