We’ve all been there, you have been given the task of organising a team building event. You’ve been told that it’s got to be fun, interactive and business related and it’s also got to be cost effective. What do you do and where do you start when facing this task?

It’s always good to narrow down the task, don’t see the big picture but firstly ask yourself some core questions; what are your objectives? If you’ve been asked to organise the team building event to have a business related benefit, then what in particular is it that you hope to illicit from the event? More often than not, it’s a generic business issue it’s not often the case that a particular business rule or regulation is learnt. It’s normally something broader such as your company wants to improve communication or your delegates don’t actually get chance to meet face to face and in order to improve relationships between departments, you want a team activity that will break the ice between them.

Once you have narrowed down the core objectives, then you can take a look at the circumstances that surround your conference or event. We already know that you want a team building event but is this event going to last a full day or are you having a meeting before or after it? The team building activities that you choose for a half day are very different than a full days activities.

Think about your groups normal levels of activity, are they up and about moving around most of the day or are they mainly based behind the desk? If they are normally behind a desk then it’s crucial that you remember this. It’s often the case that organisers want to fill up a full day of action packed activity but they forget that most of their team are simply not fit enough to last a full day. It’s so important that you consider this, when people start feeling tired and exhausted, they start to feel that they are under achieving, they give up and then all of a sudden your fantastic planning of a good team building event has been pointless, it’s actually been counterproductive.

Next you have to consider the time of year when looking at a specific activity. There are more people than you would imagine that look to organise water based inflatable activities in the winter – normally they are a great fun idea for a team building event but in the cold light of winter nobody wants to be standing around in the cold whilst dripping wet. If you are unsure about the suitability of any activity ask the team building company if they think it’s suitable for the time of year.

Finally the age old consideration of your budget should be carefully thought about and it’s still the case that less is more when choosing the right team building event. It’s better to have a good quality three hour event than a longer event that doesn’t cut the grade because your budget doesn’t stretch.

So when you are looking to organise your team building event, please do think about all the areas that we have discussed but also call your team building company and talk to them. They have years of experience of running successful team events and they can help guide you towards the perfect solution for your group.

You need to think carefully when you are planning an event of any type. There are so much to do and so many pitfalls to fall into. You will find that it is easy to get buried in the processes rather than working on your great ideas you’re stuck with a load of organizational red tape. You want to try and make the most of the ideas that you have so that you can make your fun casino event the most successful and memorable for your guests and of course yourself.

It’s important to ensure that your casino event is taking on the feel that you want. You do not want to ruin the event by choosing the wrong venue for the function. Your biggest feat is to make sure that your guests have a great time and ideally your event is talked about as the party of the year. Doing this does not have to be tough, In fact, you can have the party of the year if you really set your mind to it. It’s imperative to consider a number of things when it comes to choosing your events venue. You need to be sure that you are looking out for something that will suit everyone. You need to have the event jam packed with fun and entertainment so that anyone that attends is going to have something great to enjoy and talk about, so you will need to consider not only a fun casino, but possibly other entertainment as well. They will be excited to be there and afterwards, they will be glad that they attended.

Another thing to look out for when you are planning your fun casino is the food. You need to make sure that you are able to find a menu that everyone is going to enjoy and that will fit in with the themed casino entertainment. You will want to meet the needs of all the different types of guests to ensure that they have the best food that they have ever had. If you are having children at your party, you will want to accommodate their needs as well. You will certainly want something great for them to munch on.

You should also make sure that the area that you are holding the event is going to be best for the occasion. You need to find somewhere that will fit all of your guests comfortably so that no one is uncomfortable and feeling like they are cramped in like sardines, at the same time an area that is too large will mean there is a lack of the all important atmosphere. It is also important to consider the placement of the fun casino tables, you will want to ensure they are far enough away from any loud musical entertainment so the croupiers can be heard, but not so far away the casino is forgotten. The more room that you have will mean that the more people you can invite. Remember that you want to make sure that you are using a place that will keep your guests in one area and allow them to mingle, as they should be. In an ideal situation the bar area will be within the main room your event is taking place in, this will see a better atmosphere than a separate bar your guests will have to leave the room to get too. You will see that your guests will have a better time if they are all meeting and chatting along in the same area. You do not want them to be scattered around or separated.

Getting what you want from your event is not going to be easy. You will have to make sacrifices and use a lot of your resources. You may also have to hire someone to help you along and get you through the organizational tape that goes with this sort of thing. When you are able to find some help with your event, you will feel a lot better and you may also see that your event goes a lot smoother as well. This is something that you can be proud of and excited about at the same time. Organizing a great fun casino event is not always easy, but if you get it right it will all be worth it. It is advisable to contact a professional fun casino hire company, they will be able to advise you on venue selection and layout that best suits a Vegas style casino event!

There are retreats, crops, getaways, cruises, conventions, and even scrapbook expos being held every single weekend now! Scrapbookers love to connect, and you can help provide the connection. If you’re well-organized and can put together the kind of event that will generate excellent word-of-mouth, an event planning company could be a profitable venture for you.

While this is along the same lines as teaching a class, events are meant to be all day affairs – even multiple day affairs. So many women are hankering to get out of the house and get away from the stresses of every day life. A weekend scrapbooking retreat would be right up their alley!

One website I’ve found gives an account of her “Scrap Camp” that she hosts where a camping experience combines with scrapbooking to provide attendees with not only a getaway, but a way to talk and interact with other scrapbookers and get ideas from each other.

Just like the classes, you’ll need to set a price and decide whether or not supplies are included in the price. Obviously, the cost is going to be a bit higher, but often times, your attendees won’t blink an eye to paying it.

Concentrate a multiple day event on putting together an entire custom scrapbook. Encourage your students to bring along as many pictures as they can find and then show them how to organize them into beautiful layouts.

An event might require you to spend more one-on-one time with those attending, but personal service could be the difference between you and your competition.

Contact scrapbooking suppliers and let them know about your event. See if they would be willing to donate supplies in exchange for liberal advertising at your event. You might be surprised at how many companies would be happy to sponsor T-shirts, flyers, and even supplies. This is especially true if you really play up your event and have great attendance.

If you can find a company willing to donate toward your event, you want to keep them on your valuable contacts list. The best way to do this is to send a follow-up after the event is over to show how successful your event and their products were.

You can do this in many ways. We would suggest having all participants sign an over-sized card with personal comments and include pictures of that company’s products being used. They’ll surely appreciate the advertising and are more likely to sponsor one of your other events further down the road.

The best part about scrapbooking events is that you can plan other activities to go along with classes to enhance the experience. After all, you really don’t want to spend 12 hours doing nothing but scrapbooking, do you? It would seem too much like work.

Even though scrapbooking is the main reason for the event, networking, sharing ideas, and making friends is also important. This is an excellent way to promote scrapbooking in your community and share your love of the hobby.

There are a lot of resources out there right now for people who want to get started in the often-lucrative world of event videography. This short article will just serve to introduce those videographers and producers new in the field to a few simple concepts and ideas.

There are plenty of event promoters out there that are just waiting for entrepreneurial producers and videographers to come to them and make them an offer. Most event organizers would love to have someone offer to video-tape their event and sell it to the participants/audience members, and many will let you do it for free, provided you have some decent credentials (though you may not even need those). Event videography is a huge business, and these days, considering how easy it is to make DVDs or put your video online, it’s very easy to get started in. It could be as simple as setting up a booth at an event, and taking people’s payments and information and then sending them a DVD of the event in the mail at a later date.

Some ideas of events:

-Youth competitions of all kinds: any event where parents would like to purchase a DVD keepsake of their children’s performance. Use your imagination, as there are a virtually limitless amount of these, and parents love to pay for well-produced keepsakes like these.

-Large participant plays/theatre events: In addition to regular theatre-type events that you could market to the actors, think of things like interactive dinner theatres. There are many of these types of unique events, and audience participants might be interested in having their experiences documented.

-Family/High School/Military Reunions: I’m having a family reunion next month; only the second one my father’s family has ever had, and I know that the organizers would pay pretty good money if someone came to them and gave them a deal on a certain number of DVDs as well as hosting the video on a url or even just on YouTube or something. (I’d do it myself but I’m all videoed out.) Again: use your imagination, as sentimental events are a big business.

-Corporate trade shows/presentations/seminars: Approach trade show organizers or individual companies involved in a trade show, offering to make a production featuring all the participants, or just focusing on one particular section.

-Motivational Speakers/Experts: You can find many speakers and experts who would like a reasonably priced video of their presentation/performance, for either promotional web video or to sell as a product.

There are limitless possibilities. When you start concentrating on this kind of work, you will start seeing opportunities everywhere you look. I open the paper every day and see several small events going on that I’m sure could be turned into a profitable free-lance situation. Every event has different elements, however, and each situation requires a good amount of forethought to what the best way to approach it and set it up might be. With some experience, some confidence, some business cards, and perhaps an assistant or two or three (who you can easily find on sites like this one) there isn’t a job out there that is too big for you.
