Oh Hell yeah! I wouldn’t want to expose my family to the people I work with, and I definitely wouldn’t want to expose the people I work with to my family!

You need a vacation from family sometimes too.

No, i would not. i prefer my family to people from work. I would much rather have the time with my family. Even if the company is paying for food, transportation, hotel, i would rather not go. I value my time with my family. I do not prefer to socialize with people from work. I already have my own friends that i like.

Yes! I would tell my husband to order Pizza, and he would be fine… my little girl, she is so smart, she tells her dad when and what she wants, take the trip and relax, even if it is for one night!

If it was some place fun that would make me and my co-workers work better together, yes.

Yes if it was a decent place and I didn’t need to be in useless meetings all the time. I would miss my family though.

It all would depend on how much I wanted the experience of whatever they were providing/teaching on the retreat. If it wasn’t something really worthwhile, I’d always choose to be home with my family.

I would not want to go, but sometimes these “optional” events really are in your best interest, so I would muddle through.

without MY family!– heck yeah! i love getting a break from my family… i live for my vacations no parents so siblings, just me and my friends!

if you are maaried and have kids… that i’m sure is different- i would want my spouce to go along. but i guess it depends on what all will be going on– if you are in classes the whole time.. or if you can take a few more days after that for a mini vacation– it just depends on your situation

It depends if you will have a chance to spend “quality: time with someone you like..

Even the most loving & happy of families need time spent apart an overnight trip because of work is no big deal personally I’d love my hubby to go away overnight for work I’d get the bed all to myself & not have to listen to his snoring. Heaven lol

    No i would not go

Well, that’s a little complicated….are other families going? Is it just for the employees? Will you be in a situation that is going to arouse suspicion from your spouse? You don’t want to put your family on the side plate, however if this is a retreat that is a company annual, or something that everyone does, and it’s needed for work advancement, talk it over with your family. Most of the time you can resolve issues like this by getting your family’s feelings on the matter. Who knows, there may be a way you can all go. If you’re simply trying to get some alone time, then I think that’s a whole diff. can of worms.
