I am starting a catering business, I need ideas please?

Mostly menu ideas for a casual catering place. Events I would do is like cocktail parties and graduations. What things would you like to see on the menu if it was your event? Also I am thinking of this being an inhome catering, with a full kitchen in my basement. Of course I would go through all the health codes and etc and be professional. Please include any ideas you have! Thanks!

As with any business you have to research it first, know your clients that you will be catering for. Many times they are the ones who tell you what they would like.

So if you know who your customers will be then research the food and drink your customers will want. Then get your recipes and experiment with them and get several menus made so you can send them out to your customers in that way they will have an idea of what to expect.

Most importantly know your customers, experiment with your recipes and drinks, learn how to set up a good presentation.

    Hope this helps.

Check out all the appetizer menus at local restaurants. Make small hamburgers on the tastiest buns you can make or buy. Make tiny ham and cheese sandwiches.

Go to all the local bridal shops and country clubs to tell them about your business.

Tell 5 people that you will do a free “event” for them for 10 people. It will cost you a lot of time and money but the word will spread that you can do the job.
