Do you think this business idea will work?

Ok so we have to set up a mini business for a school project and the idea i had was to have a website with details of events going on locally. Things like concerts, comedy gigs, maybe cinema listings, things like that. I figure i could make money by offering the site as a place to advertise to the people who are holding the events. Do you think this is a good idea??… if so do you have any ideas how i could improve the site, or how i could get people to visit the site. Also, i was thinking we could have a service that we could charge a small fee for (im not sure what there called, but where people can log in and out) and we could have like a loyalty program or they get text alerts or something, ideas on this would also be greatly appreciated!!… thank you all so much in advance!!!…

Yes – it can work, but I highly suggest checking to see if there are similar sites covering your locality – if there are, you will have to do a better job then t he other site since they have the head start.

For a model site (one I know of anyway) that sounds similar to what you want, check out the following as a model:

Why not make some money from some auctions sites.Everybody has something to sell off.Penny auctions have gained popularity over the last few months and now have hundreds of thousands of users.Just launched new Penny Auction Site, and there’s a really good chance of winning at the moment, as there aren’t many players to compete with as of yet.Why not give a shoot at http://www.PennyAuctionSite.com
