I want to start my own small private Business of visitors to the Los Angeles, Ca area in showing them around, taking them on group tours and other sight seeing activities. Where do I need to start? Do i really need any type of license? I will not have my own office as I will just be operating from my home. So what do you recommend I start to get my tour Business going? I’m basically asking if I need a license and how to advertised. Thanks in advance

Honestly, you really need to go to http://www.calgold.ca.gov and obtain a small business license. It will only cost you about $12 or a little more. I live in the Phoenix, AZ area and it will only cost me $12 to get my business license. To get your Federal Tax Identification Number it is free and will take you about 5 – 10 min to get at http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=102767,00.html It’s safer to have your business licenses and get bonded and insured to cover yourself in case anything should ever happen. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help you as much as possible.
